3 hours...park police came and made us put out our fire, told us we couldn't camp there and we had to stop all alcohol consumption

they told us we couldn't stay there and then i asked them when we could come back to set up- and that other people would be there by 2 am to try and claim our spot...he thought about it and said i guess you guys can stay once the fire is out.

an hour later we had a fire and the brews back out...those hot dogs weren't going to cook themselves. at 12:45am another hunter showed up ( one that i competed with for this spot all last year- and beat him everytime except once).

He asked if we were going to hunt there and we looked at him like he was an idiot and then he got in his truck all pissed off and left

we managed to crash around 2:30 and got up by 5:45 which gave us plenty of time to erect a pretty sweet blind.

I didn't get much sleep last nite... but I slept all afternoon (much to the dismay of my better half)

Wasn't born in Texas, but I got there as fast as I could.

2 hours sleep, We got out to the lake ridiculously early only to have found ourselves almost NO competition, save for some schmuck up a creek trying to pass shoot ducks; he left by 8:30-9:00am and we had a good hunt.

not much, the first time I started to go to sleep i remebered that I left my phone and mojo stake in the car and had to paddle back, got my gun muddy and had to clean it, and when when I laid down again 2 really drunk morons came up and asked if they could hunt w/ me and told racist jokes for a while, when I finally got rid of the drunk racists they played music real loud in the woods all night long.

I slept 4 hrs. 1 hr at a time. I got to the spot a 1:00 and slept in the voat. every hr I hat to flash some one off. At 7:45 some idot desided to set up in front of me about 85 yds away in a grey boat with a white trolling motor w/o a blind. Needless to say no birds came in. So much for trying to beet the crowd.

8 hours! Thats one of the benefits of hunting private water...We ended up having plenty of birds, but not very good shooting.

My opening weekend is shifted by two days. Last night I slept around 2 hours, but tonight will be a lot better. I'm not driving near as far and I'll be in someone else's boat so I can kind of sleep in until 4:30 or so.

Saw a good number of ducks today and had the whole area to ourselves. Shot like arse - missed a gimme drake gadwall somehow, but had a good time!

I hate to admit it, but the easiest shot I had today (15 yards coming right over the boat) never fired because I didn't push the safety all the way over.
