Savage 10 FP in 308; 4-14x40 Mark 4 Leupold on it; (unless I get relegated to a brushy short range stand, then I have the dilemma of the Remington 750 or Sig 716) All are 308's...

Wife will have her Savage 10 FM Sierra in 308...

If I hunt by myself on Saturday morning I'll be toting my custom built LH 700 in .280 Remington slinging 140 gr. Accubonds.
If my grandson hunts with me instead of his dad I won't even carry my rifle as he will be doing the shooting if the right one comes along. He will be toting his custom built LH SS 700 in .257 Weatherby Mag slinging 110 gr Accubonds.

Howa .308 with 168gr Barnes ttx.

Only shot a pig with this set up but that bullet impressed the heck out of me.

Ruger 77 (tang safety) in .280 Rem loaded with 140 Rem Core Lokt 'cause they've never ever failed me. My back up is a Ruger MkII compact in .260 Rem loaded w/ 140 grain Core Lokt because, again, they've never let me down. My son will tote the ol Ruger Mk II in .257 Roberts loaded with a Hornady mini mag something blah blah I forget with a 117 gr bullet of some type. My hunting partners mostly shoot .270s with Winchester silver tip ballistic bullets and it seems we're always having to track their deer.... (though we don't shoot many. Deer lease has become more about the fire, a good peach cobbler and quality conversation (or peaceful peace and quiet) that it is about the shooting.

So she says "sure Honey, I agree, you DO need a new deer rifle..." And that, boys, is how I ended up with new living room furniture!

Custom 98 Mauser in 7x57, 139gr Hornady SST handloads for the serious work. Will probably carry along an AR in 300 aac in case pigs show. Daughter will be sitting next to me with a 20 gauge loaded with 3" mag buckshot for anything edible that strays to within 25 yds or so of us.

Shoot. Eat. Repeat.

338-06 handloaded 210 gr ttsx or 270 with the 130 gr hornady gmx. Both are savages. Not going in the am. But I'm taking both guns and will pick one depending on the stand I hunt

Interestingly enough I will also be in my blind with my Remington 700 ADL, .270 and Remington Cor Lokt 130g ammo. (Also my first and only deer rifle) I will also have a life preserver on as I'm in Hardin County and I had to wade into my camera today after the flooding rains we had yesterday. Hand corned a bit but most of the corn from the feeder is underwater. Still wouldn't miss it for the world.

I'd be a vegitarian too if bacon grew on trees.
