I've been interested but ammo seemed to be expensive and hard to find.

Great gun. I got mine 2 weeks ago. I have found ammo for $25 a box. My buddy has one as well and after shooting his I had to have one.

This one is on back order with no confirmed delivery date so I'll see about locating some ammo. I haven't found any yet, but will keep looking.

If you call Guns Unlimited in Gatesville Texas, they have one in stock. Cheaper than elsewhere and has some ammo too for it.
Laura and Sharif own it and great people to deal with. Very easy to buy from.
Shhhhhhhh better to be quiet than remove all doubt..

I have one and I love the gun. Very smooth, very accurate, I put a reflex sight on top and it's a lot of fun to shoot... but as has already been said, it can be hard to find ammo and even harder to find it at a decent price. 25$ a box is great, but I've been having problems finding for less than 50$. JackCountyHunter, Where have you found your ammo and how recently?

Rusted i bought the ammo on tuesday from GT Distributers which is a Police store here in Dallas. Anyone can buy from them but they cary all the tactical stuff for officers. I am not an officer and you can buy anything they have. Look them up online. They had around 5 boxes or so. They only allow you to buy 2 boxes every 30 days. I am sending my dad to them to pick up 2 more for me and then i am going to send my mom and girlfriend to buy some as well.

Jack,
How does GT ensure that you only buy 2 boxes every 30 days?

I am a fan of the 5.7x28. I have had mine a couple of years and have fired several ammo types both suppressed and unsuppressed. The FN SS197 SR (A-Max) bullets appear to have the most expansion and seem to mostly disintegrate except for the base and scraps of copper still attached to the base. The SS198 round has really good terminal ballistics, but FN only sells this round to Law Enforcement. It is available on the secondary market occasionally. Of the available HP versions, the Federal American Eagle has better performance than the FN SS195. The best cartridge I have found is made by Desert Ammo Supply. They call it the WS2 Penetrator. It runs a 55g Hornady Bullet. The only bullet left I want to try is the SS192 Subsonic round, but it is really hard to find.
Since you have along wait for the gun, I suggest getting a Gem-Tech SFN57 suppressor started now. 12-15 month waits on NFA forms currently. Also get the extended barrel ordered, another waiting list. Jarvis Barrels make good stuff. You shoot a 5.7 Suppressed, You're addicted! Very little noise, recoil or barrel rise.

I have a friend who bought one a long time ago, and was testing the crap out of it (owns/runs an E Coast shooting school). He wasn't sold or unsold on the gun/round. His right-hand man hated both the gun and round.
Fast forward a few years and we have the Ft Hood incident. Apparently the round will work. Or at least it did there.
Fast forward a little bit more and I begin to see them used more and more in Mexico, especially western Mexico -- by both cartel members and the popo. I got my hands on one to use for shooting some ballistic glass and was VERY unimpressed. Plus I began to notice that the cops AND cartel members have almost entirely moved on to other calibers.
In the end, I remain unconvinced it is the round everyone was hoping and looking for. The FN pistol is large and unwieldy, especially for CCW. The PS90 is worthy of giggles only -- I'm sure there are those whom would disagree, perhaps including members of the USSS -- but I admit to not normally caring much about tactical or firearms thinking that comes out of the USSS.
Good luck on your purchase, hopefully you enjoy it. But while I would gladly shoot the heck out of a friend's gun, I wouldn't buy one myself....
