We headed out Saturday morning for our first youth weekend hunt, and had a great time. This was his first deer and he was very happy with his succes. This buck walked out around 7:25, and stood broadside for what seemed an eternity. My son was sleeping in my lap as we got up at 4am to make the drive and hit the stand at 6:20. I woke him up and asked if this was a deer he wanted to take and as you can see he said YES! Excellent shot placement for his first time with an old trusty .243. The buck collapsed within 15 yards. A mature 8, that many would be happy to take. This pic is a little blurry, but it's the best shot showing the size of the buck.
