I mistook that split G2 for a G3. I knew I was coming up with too much tine length compared to stxranchman. So I would say the deer is more likely to be in the 127-130 range.

My buck finally showed up in shooting light this morning! Pics weren't very good due to fog, but that's the first daytime pics I've gotten in over a month! I was at work, but it's on now!!!

Mid 130's looks like 6.5 to me. He's a shooter.

6.5 year old bruiser 8 with some nice character. I think he's 133-135, but I don't think I'd bet my lease spot on it. You've got plenty of good pics. Get your lessor to sign off on him before you shoot.

If they kick you off for killing a fully mature buck like that, I would not want to hunt on a lease with those rules. He is not going to get any better with age IMO.

i figured most leases were moving towards age over score for the green light these days....great looking mature buck, definitely should be at the top of the list.

6.5+ 130,s. Nice deer.

That rule is very dumb to say the least IMO.

You can kill a 2 year old 140 but not a 6 year old 130? Just doesn't make sense.

I showed the land owner pics of this buck today and he gave me his blessing to shoot. He said his minimums were set to keep irresponsible hunters from killing a 120" 2-year old. That's why he hasn't leased this place in 7 years!

Not to change the subject, but it takes a dang big deer to make Pope & Young! In my eyes, this deer is HUGE. This is small property (300 acres), low fence, West Texas cotton country, but this is one of the biggest framed deer I've ever hunted. I've got this deer at 138" personally (possibly too optimistic) and with deductions, he'll barely net P&Y. I'm not hung up on score because this is a great bow deer, but it takes a dang big deer to make Pope & Young!!!
