I hunt a heavily wooded timber tract in east texas and have terrible luck getting two-way radios to work properly. I have been using ~$50 motorolas for the past few years and I'm ready to replace them with something better that actually works!
any suggestions? I would like to spend less than $150 for the pair if possible. Thanks.
side note: my stands on the lease are no more than a mile or so apart as the crow flies.
Is it duck season yet?

Smoke signals? I've paid a hundred bucks for a a pair and they were supposed to have a 5 mile range. They are good for less than a mile in the woods. Line of site is over a mile but how often does that happen while hunting?
