WOW!! Looks like he has a GREAT coat. Very nice goat. That's one of my dream hunts. How physically demanding was it and where did you go?

Goats are very physically demanding...I look old..lol...but stay in great shape mountain hunting and playing hockey 4 nights a week.
I live on Kodiak Island and we have some of the best goat hunting in the world.
You can go on a general harvest tag and shoot two goats in some areas.
Mine was DIY .... it took 9 years to draw the tag for the area I hunted.

What would you say the odds are of taking one of these goats with a bow?

Thanks All!
Chit : the weather is great for Alaska..29* that morning then up to 48* beautiful fall weather!
TexFlip : Thank you for posting the pics like that for me...I usually can do it but it wouldn't do it today for some reason...
Bowhunt Only : the odds are VERY good if you come this time of year into November...the Billies are really travelling herding nannies and sometimes will cover miles to check you out if you are sitting on a ridge in a white suit. We had a Billy the other day at 74 yards and my buddy has a HUGE Santa Clause white beard, the goat saw him and got up and came to 5 yards...it was awesome.
If anyone would like to do a hunt like this PM me as I have numerous guide friends that are able to book a hunt.
STX: You need to come hunt with me... smile

Nice goat.
I have hunted Kodiak before and the Island is beautiful and the goats are always at the top. The mountains are not necessarily all that high but they are straight up and down.
Physically demanding is an understatement. Congrats on a great hunt and a great goat

I guess I didn't realize they were that big, body wise, because I can't get over how HUGE he is in that 3rd picture. Does Kodiak just grow them extra large or something or are they always that big? He looks like he weighs 500 pounds! Maybe it's all hair...
