Expect the least and the outcome will be greater, it never fails, over and over again.

I honestly just enjoy seeing it come alive. I even enjoy the late spring when the rice gets flooded. It's just a preview and a reminder that ducks will be there. I enjoy getting muddy, and putting in the time and effort to make sure the upcoming hunts will be good.
The 3 things that usually just trigger something in me is the first sighting of teal in August, hearing specks in late September/October, and hearing Sandhills in October.
Those 3 things let me know that season is here.
As far as things I go through, it's usually build some blinds, brush blinds, ride the prairie over and over again, and put the mud tires on the 4 wheeler. All the decoys and gear are still ready from teal season.
