Phones are essential to our lives now. Do you carry a power pack with you when you are outside hunting? Have you ever noticed that your phone may stay live all day long but when you are in need of it, it just dead ? Any ideas on dealing with this power problem? Come and share.

No I don't carry any extra batteries. I am hunting when I am outdoors not on the phone wasting good hunting time. I put my phone on vibrate and the battery will last for a couple of days. I only answer family calls since it might concern health issues. Everyone else can wait till I am done hunting.

I carry the phone for emergency or help, but since I don't game, text, or surf the net while I'm in the blind I don't worry about a battery.
Having said that, If I were on a diy in the big country I might invest in a solar charger.

Mine is esstential to my livelihood, so my wife would agrue that point of not being essential

My phone is essential. I don't take any extra batteries or chargers or anything. I just try to get it to 100% before I head out, and hope I'm done hunting before 0%.

Mine is esstential to my livelihood, so my wife would agrue that point of not being essential x2 My phone is VERY essential to my livelihood for 2 reasons. First, my wife may end my life when I return if I don't check in on her and the twins while I am gone. Second, I still have a business to run when I am out of town. Ask BOBO, I have taken calls from clients while we were in Colorado on our archery elk hunts each year. All that said, I do carry an external battery in my pack while I am away.

At one time my phone was with me and ready for action 24/7. And that was when I was caring a bulky old bag phone. Glad those days are over. Now I can turn the ^^^^^ thing off and disappear.

Like many, I'm seriously addicted to my phone. Don't know how I used to live without it and don't want to know. I LOVE my phone! I have it with me at all times and right next to the bed when I'm asleep.
Having said that, I don't have an extra battery pack, but if I was going out for any nonstop significant period of time (read: Days) I'd have to get a solar charger or something. Even without a signal there's still plenty I can do with my phone!

I have a case that also acts as a backup battery. I can either have it on and constantly recharging or I can wait till the battery is low and then charge it back up.

I carry one of these http://www.earthfriendlycharger.com/home.htmlIt has an internal battery and then can recharge itself through solar. I generally charge the battery back up when I get back to camp if I used it.

I use RAVPower 14000mAh power bank. It's small enough to carry in my pocket and holds enough juice to get me through a long trip. It won't let you down.
