Alright so I've been hunting some family property my grandpa owns for 3 years now. I haven't had anyone hunting around me until this year and it has been a complete disaster. Conflict #1 The first guy on my west fence set up a box blind and feeder about 15 feet off my fence. The first day of bow season my feeder didn't go off. I went and checked my feeder and it was turned off, checked my game camera and the Wednesday before the season about 2:30pm my camera took about 5 blacked out pictures. To his surprise I have a camera hanging in a tree that watches my setup (a hunch). So I have already confronted him with pictures of some dude in a mask messing with my feeder, cant tell its him but I'm pretty sure it was by how he acted when I showed it to him. I think we have come to a some what of a peaceful agreement, to keep his self on the other side of the fence. Conflict #2 So today I went hunting this morning and fill my feeders. I decided to walk my fence line on the way back to the truck today and stumbled across this on my south fence. I don't know who owns this property but have sent my grandpa a text with pics of it. The guy is like 6ft off the fence and heck he even has the platform guide wired to the fence (my grandpas fence). from the platform the only thing he can watch is my pasture and a 10ft circle on a deer trail that jumps the fence on his side. So my question is how would you handle these situations? I understand that it is part of hunting small acreage. I hunt 100 acres, I know that there are neighbors, but come on!!! two guys move in and both put stands right on top of the fence lines. One guy had the nerve to come over and mess with my stuff and the second guy is basically hunting my pasture and guide wired to my fence. I know I am basically venting at this point but it is driving me crazy. What are deer scared of lol, could I hang something off my fence to scare them from this trail or does this make me just as much of an @$$ hole as these guys? I have a friend who cuts hair, lol. I put a lot of work into my setups and its just frustrating as hell.

If you have picture evidence of somebody messing with your feeder/camera I'd be contacting the Game Warden for sure. That's a crime on multiple levels and I personally wouldn't put up with it. If they start to feel they can get away with it it might get worse.
On #2, not much you can do other than talk to the guy about it and politely point out that it's a DB move to put his stand right on the fence. Until he shoots onto your property he's technically not breaking any laws.
Some of that is just the joys of hunting small-place properties.

There is NO reason some A hole should be on your side messing with your anything. period.... That tells you what level that guy is on. As far as the other nut job, put a blind right beside his, set to where he wont know if your there or not, hunt it opening morning. Might want to cut a hole in the blind and run a piece of pvc pipe out so you can "relieve" yourself on the fence every 10 minutes or so. He might get the idea.

On Conflict #2. If you have another deer stand or tripod I'd put it up right in his field of view. I'd make sure whatever he's looking at would be either a "mock" stand or something to totally block his view.

Call warden for #1. And when the warden comes out show him #2. Then leave GW card on guide wire to wooden stand for # 2 with note explaining GW is aware he is basically hunting your property. Good luck. I caught someone in the act of hunting a stand like #2 on my family place. A few nice words and he removed his stand.

I would turn in the pictures to the GW. I would leave a note on the other stand stating that you already have one trespasser on camera that you are prosecuting to the full extent of the law and he will be next if he shoots anything and/or tresspasses on your property. I would let him know that you turned in the picture of his stand to the GW as well so he knows you're both waiting for him to cross that fence. This is why I will never lease in East Texas again. Been there, done that.

I agree with the guys above. Time to get the G.W. involved because of the trespassing and destruction of property. Then show the warden the adjacent stand and have him leave a business card on the stand in a ziplock baggy and ductape. Looks like east Texas to me. It can happen anywhere though. I've had some real buttheads mess with my stuff, out west and south. Stay vigilant and don't let them see you as a pushover. They're not your friends. Just make sure there's nothing major that will burn in the area. Houses, trailers etc.

Yeah it's been pretty frustrating to say the least. After years of hunting all over east texas and going seasons without seeing anything my grandpa started letting me hunt his place and it has been some of the best hunting I have ever had. I have my 100 acres then there is 250 acres beside me that a family in Houston owns that they don't allow hunting on, I'm sure people do. Y'all can see the character of people around me. But for the first couple of years I really was the only person hunting a pretty large area, not now. I am going to contact the GW in the morning and talk with him. Then after I hear back from my grandpa ill look into conflict #2.
What started out looking like a promising season with potential has turned into a f'n headache!

Hang in there buddy. You might let your neighbors in on your efforts, to maintain a quality habitat and experience for them as well as your family. That'll get y'all on the same page, then it's even easier to keep trespassers/poachers off your land. As long as you have nothing to hide, you might as well ask the G.W. to patrol the area more frequently.

GW for #1; 3 full size pieces to plywood and some 4x4s for #2 - put him behind a billboard for opening morning.

You could also ask GW about filing harassment charges against him if you want to pursue that avenue.

Solve the problem, do what was suggested above. Try not to get angry though, it really does you no good. Anger is what gets people shot in the face.

I'd call the game warden and see if he will meet up with you on your property, get to know him and he will more than likely keep an eye out on your place and help you out with the trespassing and proof you have of the act. With you having evidence, the Sheriff should definately be interested in helping you catch them as well.

And I'm sure not gonna be peaceful with someone who can't show some respect and stay off my land and leave my stuff alone. I take it you do it that way. That's cool. To each his own. You like to resolve and I get even. But that's how I would do it

Nice sarcasm. Let's just agree to disagree. You handle things your way and i will handle them mine. This is a public forum. If you don't like my opinion, you don't have to respond

Yeah I would probably stay away from getting physical with anyone, unless you want to get the heck sued out of you. Best thing to do is relay your concerns to your neighbors and you may be surprised in how they respond. I'd record your conversation with a recorder on your phone and stick in your front pocket, just to have some evidence.

As for conflict #2, it appears he has good deer habitat on his side of the fence while you have open pasture. I've seen cases where the tables are turned and the one with open pasture puts a feeder and stand near a fence in an obvious attempt to attract deer from cover on adjacent property. If he is trying to catch one that's being drawn off his property, I see no foul done.

I would have an issue with #1, GW would be involved and another camera to catch him crossing if it is feasible. How far across the fence is your feeder?
#2, I wouldn't have an issue with until I thought he was shooting across the fence. Our place has 6 or 7 stands on the fence lines. Doesn't bother me a bit unless they shoot something across one of them.

Yeah I have a solution. Kick #1's [censored] and tear down the blind of #2. Yeah I said it. but what if you are a little fella and kickin arse aint really your thing? do u think there is a more civil and mature way to handle it? on #2, PM navasot, he seems to be a fairly reasonable chap and will probably have that stand down by thursday. seriously, i would for sure let the GW know what is going on, show him the pics and show him the stand on the fence, i wouldnt be kickin ace and gettin all mad, yet, some people dont really care for the law and can do a lot of damage before they get caught. it sucks and seems all passive and i know we are texans and "we aint passive boy" but you arent out there all day every day, is "making your point" worth a $150 camera or feeder?
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

Had a buddy years ago that new guys started hunting the land next to them .One of the guys put a stand on the fence/Sendero. So Mike put one right next to him.He said after the first weekend of staring at each other at 10 feet they came to an agreement.I won't shot across the fence if you won't.
