Not only will they give you a hat and put your name on the hall of fame, they'll also make your co-pay to your cardiologist. Maybe a trophy given posthumously?
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.

In its glory days, Massey's on 8th Avenue in Fort Worth was the best of the best. The Massey family ran it for 50 years. It went down hill after they leased it out and is now history. Nothing fancy, just a very good cut of meat and double dipped in a flour, milk and egg batter. 6000 steaks a week and the recipe never changed as long as there was a Massey in the building

Shame there is few places that make a decent one, much less a really good one!

Massey's was good, try Ginger Browns in Lake Worth, decent CFS.

If your ever in Deleon Texas try the Blue Moon Caf. Fantastic chicken fried steak and other foods as well. It just reopened with the original owners back at the helm. Its located at the red light in the middle of town. They had great food before the economy shut them down and now they are back.

Anyone had the CFS at George's in Waco ? Yep, full order is more than most grown men can eat. Very good, and so is the gravy. Especially good with 3 or 4 DosXX Big O's.

First time posting, couldn't help it after eating CFS all my life in Texas you have to try it at Rocha's El Catan Grill in downtown Laredo on Salinas Street.

Does it bother anybody else that the OP is "Chickem..."? I'm also going to stray a bit but in the same family...the steak fingers at Buddy's in Andrews beat any chicken fry I've had and I've had good ones. If you're in Amarillo, try the Stockyard Cafe (new location)...pretty darn good CFS, mashed potatoes, and bacon grease gravy.

Good catch! If it bothers anyone, they might be a little sensitive? Does it bother anybody else that the OP is "Chickem..."? I'll add another vote for Mary's... We stop by on our way to Coleman Texas and if we miss it on the way there, we hit it up on the way back

The original Goodsons in Hufsmith, Texas had a great chicken fried steak. The Goodsons in Tomball is okay though. Never been. Where is the original located? I don't remember the exact location, been too long ago. I use to lunch there when I was working out that way. I think Ron Stone or somebody on "The Eyes of Texas" did a short show on Goodsons. I went in there about a week later and it was soo busy I couldn't get a seat. I ask one of the cooks what happened and she said "it had been like this every since "that guy" put it on tv".

Marys is really our favorite. Everything we try ends up being compared to Marys.

Anyone had the CFS at George's in Waco ? Yep. George's is where our alumni group meets when we play the Baylors in Waco. Great CFS...and plenty of it.
