Curious if anyone uses deer decoys with any success; buck or doe and how/when to use em i.e. when rattling, during the rut etc...

The thrill is in the hunt, but maximized by success. You define success.

I saw one used in Missouri a few years back. It was set at 50 yards and the buck was at 100 yards. I can say it didn't hurt, but I doubt it helped any

I used an old archery doe once. Put it out in the field behind my stand while I hunted the feeder in front of me. Most of the deer that saw it got spooked & raised their tails and left the area.

use a small buck decoy and grunt at a bigger buck. he'll come in wanting to FIGHT !!!!!

I don't always shoot deer, but when I do, I prefer B&C's.
I don't always shoot ducks, but when I do, I prefer banded ducks.

For the most part decoys do not work well with Texas deer.

I have the 3d buck and doe that are an actual pic of deer on them. They look very real. I've used them many times but most deer just look at them all crazy and go around them because they know something's not right.I've never had a buck come up to one. They've been put up for couple yrs,lol..I may try them a couple more times but I think it's probably a waste of time.

Whitetail diary used one that was a picture like stated above. It worked pretty good, the buck circled it a couple of times the attacked it.

Had a buck demolish my archery buck last year around rut. Never had luck with the doe decoys.

I've had luck with them a few times here in TX. Have also had some neutral response (deer looking curiously - not coming in but also not spooked). Don't recall any negative reaction.

Was using a 2D (flat) buck decoy a few yrs ago in early November, when a buck following a doe with 2 fawns saw my decoy. He stopped about 50 yards away from the decoy, pawed the ground like a bull, and started to circle the deke. He was close to my blind and lined up for a shot but I could not get him to stop walking even when I shouted - he was totally locked on that decoy. I did end up getting him with a heart shot.
