I have a shotgun with a fixed full choke barrel on it. I can not find any replacement barrels and really don't want to change the only barrel I have.
The question is, Can I Shoot slugs through the full choke and not damage the gun? I just don't want to take a chance and screw something up.
Wreck'em TECH!!!

I heard they are better to be shot from open bore.

I'm not going to say that it doesn't, but I have done it on a regular basis for years and had no problems. With that said, if you are uncomfortable, then shoot sabots. They will not effect it because they are seated in plastic.

not gonna be real accurate I guess.... Maybe you can find an old gun to match what you have, take the barrel and a tubing cutter and make you an open choke slug gun or just swap barrels back and forth....

Some folks get away with shooting "rifled slugs" in choked guns because the fins are able to compress when going through the choke, but there will be added pressure behind it.
Using a sabot type will increase the pressure even further because the plastic sabot doesn't compress as easily as the fins will flatten on the soft lead rifled slugs. It is my opinion that sabot's in choked barrels are asking for a problem.
