I'm seeing lots of individual related posts and figured I'd make an attempt to consolidate. Let us know what you're seeing with respect to pre-rut/rut activity; provide follow-up if possible as the season progresses. Don't forget to include location!

I'm near 183 & I10 near Caldwell and Gonzales Co. Nothing significant around here (that I've witnessed). Still seeing bachelor groups although some have created space amongst one another. That and a little sparring is all I've seen as of today.

The thrill is in the hunt, but maximized by success. You define success.

I'm still seeing groups of bucks together. Saw 3 nice ones I've been waiting to see in my nieghboring fence. But saw them hanging around with a mature doe just didn't take an intrest as of yet. Last year they started putting nose to the ground on this coming weekend with the new moon which is almost here. In comal county. I did see a small buck down the road with his nose following a young doe yesterday.

Bucks are starting to roam in Howard, Midland and Martin Counties. Usually when I start getting pictures of new bucks in areas I have previously havent it means prerut is fixing to happen. I still look for full swing to happen mid November.

Shackleford county, the bucks are still grouped up but they are feeding hard and starting feel a little frisky. Watched a 3 yr old 8 play king of the hill directly under the feeder with a 2 yr old 8 and a spike for an hour Sunday am. Saturday they chased does away from the feeders and then went back to eating. But on Tc's the young bucks were rubbing horns last Wednesday trying to arrange the pecking order. The old boys are no where to be seen as of yet.

I hunt in far south Taylor county almost into Runnels. Our bucks spilt up a couple weeks ago. I have zero pics of bucks still in groups. The two biggest and oldest deer I had on camera since early august have vanished. Scrapes and rubs everywhere.....seen a nice 4 yr old 8 last weekend that his hocks are already stainded pretty good. This full moon and cooler weather should get them in gear. Anybody else hunting or have hunted this area in the past? I've hunted west of dfw for years, but not this far south. When do you guys typically start seeing mature bucks searching for doe?
