I use one called antler insanity. It allows you to mark stands, gives wind direction and speed, and distance to the marked stands.

I'm on Android, but I use Trimble GPS Hunt. I think its great. I'm sure they have an equivalent for iOS.

on WMA land, use GPS, rubs, scrapes, beds, & were seen deer &hogs

why do you need a GPS? what's wrong with a compass? why do some choose modern rifles over bp, or cross bow ov er archery or hf over lf or guided hunt over self hunt? clearly, anything more advanced that a big stick with a self-chipped-from-stone spearhead, is unsporting, an unfair advantage, not real hunting, and should be banned...oh, and you have to be dressed only in a loin cloth.

Backwoods navigation here. good quality to have, batteries do lose their charge, an like, cell phones, ya dont always get good reseption. cloudy days or whin your way back deep in the woods, that thar back woods knowladge comes in handy.

iTopo maps. Expensive and difficult to learn. But works off satalite, not towers. I use it for work in areas of no service.

I use "Topo Maps" for iOS. It downloads USGS maps for whatever area you want. I think it was a few bucks.

got Topo USA cd, do scouting at home. whin hit the woods, use my gps to scout location's off Topo USA. Topo USA has a gps called Earthmate looks like a good product. hit some hard times, or would have gotten one.
