Saw a mature buck chase a doe in Robertson County Saturday morning about 100 yards from my bow blind. (Thought it was too early for this!) Acorns have fallen and the deer are not visiting feeders.

Robertson County. I had 9 bucks coming at once 2weeks ago. Now only one at a time the last picture of multiple bucks was 2 sparring. I watched a nice mature buck chase a doe about 60 yards from me Saturday. I usually see the rut start in October and see it run to February. It hits hard 2nd week of November and 1st week of January. I got a hog saturday though.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

I'm on the far west side of VanZandt county. I saw a small 6pt & a doe this am. I watched them for 15min or so with no signs of rut. When they left the buck left first and the doe followed him.

Austin Co. here...had a young 8 pt cruise through a group of doe, nose to the ground, and follow the trail of the only doe who had broken off from the group earlier. He went out of sight with his nose to the ground on a half trot, right behind her. It's the first time I've seen a lone buck this year without his compadres, so hopefully they're getting ready up

Lots of scrapes and rubs here but no chasing yet that I've seen. We had some heavy rutting by this time last year here.

All this talk about bucks moving has got me chompin' at the bit. I'm headed down on Wednesday. I have no more commitments until the Wednesday after next. I love this time of year.

Bucks still grouped up and playing nice in Llano Co. Did see a few rubs this weekend, and a little sparring on cams.

Jts I hunt houston county. Movement has been slow here the last few days but I suspect this cool front has them moving good. I'm going hunting here in a few. The rain just stopped here.

I'm in Cherokee County. Wednesday of last week, a larger buck was chasing a small buck around my stand, and three does were passing through at the same time. Same bucks came through the next morning, with the larger one still pushing the smaller one, and a third smaller buck following them, but no sign of the does.

Had 4 scrapes a couple of weeks ago I found while squirrel hunting, but they have not been worked since.
