Had some fellas in my boat the other day and we got to talking hunting. One of them was telling me how he takes a spare tire, off a car or truck. No rim, tire only. Pour a coffee can full of corn inside the tire and sprinkle some on the ground around and in it. Supposedly the pigs get so busy bumping and fighting over the tire trying to get the corn out that you can walk up flat footed within 20 ft and stickem. He said he had a group come in and he walked up behind a small Mesquite and everytime he would stick one they would run off and come right back to the tire. He had 5 arrows, stuck 5 pigs, they would run off and come back. After his 5 shots he went up and found 2 arrows and ended up getting 2 more. His son called from another tire and had taken 4. Needless to say I put out a tire this weekend and can't wait to get back and see if they hit it yet or not.

All the hogs I have shot that were eating had no clue I was near them. I got within 15 yards of a group eating under the feeder, and I was standing in the middle of a clearing with no cover and I was just walking. They didn't know anyting was wrong until the .357 went off.

That's a splendid idea. I will be sure to try that. (oops, done it already!) Try pouring two bottles of molasses in the tire and watch the results!
A good hog is a dead one.

SEEMS TO WORK GREAT! I PUT ONE OUT AND THEY HIT IT TWICE IN ONE WEEK (AT NIGHT THOUGH...) EACH TIME THE TIRE ENDED UP ABOUT 30 YDS FROM WHERE I PUT IT. ALSO I POURED PIGOUT IN MINE FIRST TO GIVE THE CORN SOMETHING TO STICK TO.

Drive a t-post in the ground and put the tire over that. Then you won't have to go search for it.
Another option is to build you a pig pipe out of some 4" PVC and strap it to a tpost or a tree stump. Fill that thing with corn and strawberry jello mix and they'll stay there forever rolling it around until every kernel of corn is gone.

Hookster and I put two of 'em out filled with Pigout and corn. One of the tires ended up in a weird position way back under some brush and I wish I had a game camera setup to figure out how in the heck it got there. They must've been playing some form of "pig tire soccer" with it. Both tires had every kernel of corn cleaned out. Reloaded both and am looking forward to seeing where these end up.
