There are 4 people on my lease. 2 bucks killed in the morning, 2 in the evening. Not very conclusive as far as patterning goes on our place.

1 - morning, and 1-just before dark. However, I've seen them all day long, but mostly in the morning.

1 buck and 1 doe right at dark in evening. Seen about half in morning and half in evening this season. Seeing more in evening now closer to dark.

Personally I killed two deer in Texas, both in the evening.
1 in Nebraska and it was midday.
Both my wife's deer were killed in the morning.
On the property, it's probably half in the morning and half in the evening. No deer killed midday.

1 in evening about 15 minute before sun below horizon. Everyone else I know, either morning or evening, not mid-day. Of course, I don't know anyone who has hunted mid-day with the temps so high in Nov.

1 nice eight point at ~10:00a..., my best one yet, and 1 doe at ~8:00a. Most of the deer I saw this year were actually buck... a first time for that to happen to me..., but the deer were moving almost all day long after the third weekend of rifle season, starting at first light and moving all day, fast.
With some thought, you will understand that each of us is the sum total of those who came before us...

Welcome to The Forum.
Personnnally I haven't killed one yet this year, botched a shot on one at about 8:30 a.m. There have been 5 deer killed on the place though by guests, an 8 point and a 10 point about 7:30 on the opening 2 days of season. A 3 point at about 8:30 or 8:45 on opening day. Two does, one about 7:30 one weekend and the second, about 8:30 the next weekend.

Most of our deer have been in the evening just before dark, very little movement in the morning.

Been very little movement in the mornings on my place too. I'll move a little bit to adjust the pillow or blanket. That's about it!!

Hmmm. Well I have taken 3 so far this year.
1 buck, 1 doe in last 10 minutes of light in evening. 1 doe in the AM 7:00am actually.
On our lease we keep some preaty good records of what, when, where and the like. there is no real good line of what better, morn or evening cause we are abut 50/50 so far, but it does appear that in the evening more deer are shot in our low areas, and in the morning more are shot in the higher areas, this might just be a fluke, but so far this year that's what it's looking like for us.
Around Dripping Springs. Hill Country.

I think the survey would be more interesting if we were seeing data collected from people who stayed out all day. I mean... maybe more deer aren't being killed at noon because everyone's back at camp eating lunch and taking naps?
I know this is nothing to take to the bank, but how many times have you waited in your blind until you were bored, cold and hungry... trekked back to the truck to grab a bite and that's when the doe runs past with a buck hot on her tail? It's happened to me more than once.

Don't forget the human factor....most people would "rather" shoot one in the morning so they don't have to clean it in the dark.
