Nearly stepped on this guy while out scouting in the Sulphur Springs area. I don't think I've ever seen one like this and could use some THF assistance on the ID.

I did not kill it but I did have a good chuckle thinking about what might have happened if TxKiller was with me. banana

Looks like a Texas King Snake. Good snake to have around, have been know to eat rattlers.

I think we have a winner with the speckled king snake. I just looked at some other pictures of some on Google and it's the same snake.

Speckled King Snake. I had one or two growing up and havent seen one in years. That is one I'd bring home and keep, awesome snake to have around either in the tank or taking care of critters.
