Can you believe my neighbor put a note on my feeder telling me im to close to the fence??? smile
Hey, I hunt on a fence line but my back is to the fence and I know where ever I am I'm in risk. Don't think you will have an issue. Good luck

I would politely ask them to move it for the reasons you've mentioned. Might make a new friend and find they will want to be neighborly.

If there corn crosses your fence u can call the police for littering and it is legal. My friend had a hunter on his land with a feeder and corn got on this women's side who hates hunters he got in trouble with cops. Same if he shoots a deer on your side or a bullet Crosses your property line.

Call the GW....if SO won't do anything, let the State handle it.

They won't, the warden will talk to the guy and explain that he can't shoot across the fence......that's it.

He can't write a ticket unless he see a law broken, that feeder sitting there breaks no laws, crappy but its the truth.

I think taking the A-hole approach would be wrong....if anything, putting a note on his feeder, he could file criminal trespassing warning on you now....I would do what others suggest...if its peace of mind you want, go introduce yourself, offer to help relocate his stand for YOUR peace of mind.....might make a hunting buddy. The last thing Id want is a neighbor war on land I hunted on. Id try to the friendly neighbor approach first and see where that gets you.

Put a dummy stand or blind within 20 yards of their feeder, on your side of the fence. I bet they move the feeder!

Always the best way I found is to talk to each other to resolve the problem.

i hate to say it. i never was a fan of high fence, but i have become one. and this is the reason why. i've come to the conclusion that high fences just keep people honest.

nobody would put a blind on a fenceline unless they were anticipating shooting at things coming from across that fence. (or on the other side of that fence even)

and nobody should care if the neighboring property is HF or not, unless their property is too small or so over-hunted that they are counting on seeing deer from the neighboring property...and i shouldn't care that your property is low fence...unless your placing your stands in a fashion that shows me you are more interested in whats on my side of the fence than you are on whats on your side.

my answer.....fence it all that way everyone hunts what they own or have lease too and isn't concerned with what anyone else owns or has lease to.

our place is low fence, and we're fortunate to have wonderful/cooperative low fence neighbors. if we could make it happen though i'd high fence in an instant to ward off situations like the one mentioned here.

You don't have to ask what to do. Do what you think you need to do. Opinions are like A** holes, everyone has one and it may not be the best one.

First the OP is leasing the place, the landowner may be friends with the other landowner. Whizz on the landowner's friends and you may be looking for a lease.

Well if you walked across the fence line 20 yards to where their feeder was to post a note then you committed a crime of trespassing. I would have put up a dummy blind equal distance as his feeder on your side of the fence and left a note on the blind. Then if you ever happen to see the guy or gal then have a respectful talk about it and I would think that they would be understanding. Good Luck.

I say hunt and shoot the deer coming to his feeder before they get to it. Some leases are just small and you got to hunt where you got to hunt.
