I bet they were mating. A buddy of mine has a video of 2 rattlers curling up on the road at his lease a couple days ago. Kinda stuff you only see on discovery channel. Really cool!

crap - hate even seeing pics of those critters.
Went to vet last week to get dog's snake venom booster shot and the doc said he has seen more snake bites this year than he can recall.
So, be careful out there - and watch out for your animals too.
