Have any of you guys that live in Tarrant County had any trouble getting the sheriff to sign of on your NFA form?

No answer to your question, but I will offer some unsolicited advice...

It's better to spend a couple hundred bucks to set up an NFA trust, and avoid the signatures altogether. Just sayin'...

I was thinking of setting up a trust when I ran across the ATF proposal that would require a CLEO sign off on trusts and corporations for all items in the future and that was why I was asking about the chances of a sign off in Tarrant County. I don't believe I can come up with the funds to make the purchase right now (2 kids in college) so I may just be screwed.

I have the same situation. Any one know the chances of Fort Worth or Tarrant cleo signing off?

Guys, you can make your own trust with Will Maker software. I think it is about 30 bucks on Amazon. I used it lately to get stamps for 3 suppressors.

Ya, no problem with the trust itself. A lawyer in the family comes in handy every now and then. The point is, assuming they go through with the rule change as-is, even with a trust you will have to have a CLEO sign off come mid December. I was wondering what the odds of getting the sheriff (don't live in Ft Worth and Sheriff is my CLEO) to sign off on the form 5320.23 was so I can purchase a suppressor?
