Uh, no it's not. There's plenty of idiots, and city boys that don't know a screw driver from a hammer working for Fire Departments. Thank you for the compliments. I solve problems with steel

Fireman, that is great work you do. Very creative too. Especially the "Ginpole" for the skid steer. I've got a buddy who's a Fireman, the man can do darn near anything. I guess that's a prerequisite to becoming a Fireman. The truth is that they have a lot of spare time to perfect their skills.

There are not "plenty of idiots" working for fire departments. Truth is its a great career and the hiring process is pretty competitive. We regularly see 800 people (city boys included) come test for 10-15 jobs. Some guys have different skill sets that make them good to have at an emergency scene.

800 applicants for a fireman job!!!??? Holy crap! It sounds like they need to cut the pay by a third if they have that many showing up.

It's not the pay they are after. Some take pay cuts to work for the fire department!

What you say is very true. But what I said is true as well. Some can score really high on the test, and get hired, and don't have any common sense.

Very, Very Nice Work! Especially the bumper. Impressive. Thank you, sir. Been at it since 1996. My attitude is, I've always got something to learn, and I always push myself to be better, and try more difficult projects. One day, when I'm old, I may have this mastered.

That's some great work there. Whats the going cost on building like that these days, I need to build a shop down at my land but don't really have the time and we were thinking about having one built.

Every contractor will estimate it differently. I have been factoring in mileage from my place to the job for several years. The closer the job is to me, the cheaper it is for the customer.
