Anybody had a chance to shoot this mod yet? I just ordered one after looking at one in Cabales. I liked the feel not to heavy or to light. After reading reviews it scored pretty high, so I thougt I get one put a Leupold muzzy scope and get to working on a load it likes. When I get mine and get it going i will post results in case someone is interested. If anybody has used this rifle lets hear what has worked for you on load data. Thanks
Thanks Doc

I haven't touched the V2, but I do have the prior version and it shoots great out past 200 yards. I use CCI 209 muzzleloading primers and 3 whitehot pellets with a 295gr powerbelt HP.

I took it out the other day, shooting 100gr 777 and a 295 areo tip powerbelt to sight in and at 100 yrd cutting same hole with first two shots. adjusted scope and cut same hole with next two shots. had to leave due to lack of day light, can't wait till i get a chance to finish my sight in. so far i will say that it is a keeper.
Thanks Doc

the 777 powder u shooting loose grain or the pellets? got traditional .45 muzzle loader, book I have shows the GOEX vs PYRODEX, couldnt find the GOEX, ended up with 777, or Tripple 7 its for muzzle loader, thinking more for in-line 209 cap just tring ta figure a safe gr. what calaber is yours, guessing .50cal if only using 100gr.

if I am not mistaken the optima does not come with a bergara barrel From the CVA website - "Every barrel that we use today is also made in Bergara at the BERGARA BARRELS factory."

CVA owns Bergara Barrels. Both are made at the same factory on same equipment. The only difference I was told was the quality of the barrel blank. That being said my Optima still shoots great for a muzzle loader.

They bought them out several years ago when CVA had to file bankruptcy. Some of the barrels that CVA had been using would blow up; consequently, several law suits were filed against CVA, causing them to go broke.

I have a L/H CVA frontier 1/2 stock Hawken type rifle and need a Ramrod guide. Anyone know where I can find one around San Antonio. Not Powderhorn, tried them yesterday. Not much there since Max Sniders gone.

I bought this same gun yesterday and was wondering if you done anything to the gun prior to the first shot. All I could find in the owners manual was to clean the shipping grease out. The reason I asked is because I borrowed a coworkers traditions muzzleloader last year and distinctly remember reading in it's owners manual to poor boiling hot water down the barrel prior to the first shot taken with the gun. It was referred to as "seasoning the barrel".

Probably the most important thing is to get any preservatives/oils out of the barrell. Some folks recommend firing a 209 primer or two through the rifle before using at the range. s

I have two versions of the Accura V2 which is a step up from the Optima. Took them to the range today to sight in for my father and I to use for Texas' muzzleloader season next week. I used two 50 grain Hodgdon white hot pellets and a 420 gr Powerbelt bullet with CCI 209 primers in both of them. The stainless steel thumbhole model shot one ragged hole with 5 shots at 100 yards 2 inches above the point of aim. The MR SS/RT Max 1 HD model shot five shots into a 3/4 inch 5 shot group to the same point of impact at 100 yards. So yes, CVA's inlines can be extremely accurate when you take the time and effort to work up the proper load for them. I can also shoot two 50 grain 777 pellets and 295 gr Powerbelts in them and get very similar results with the point of impact being the only adjustment needed. I have shot them both enough that I sight in for the 420s and adjust my point of aim for the 295s and have taken 5 deer, numerous hogs, a bear, 2 elk and many exotics with them. Good luck and happy shooting / hunting!!!
