Based on the fact that all the feed stores sold out of wheat and oats this weekend, I suspect a lot of guys were like me and wanted to get their food plots done with plenty of rain in the forecast.
I'm only planting one plot this season and was able to get it in yesterday before the rains came. Perfect timing for sure. Did not get to spray it first but was able to get a good mowing and disking. It was also my first chance to try out a new harrow that I picked up during the summer at Northern Tool. Even the landowner was impressed at how well it smoothed the area after disking and then covered the seeds afterwards. But the thing is so heavy it really takes two to handle it. Worked much better than the old chain link fence I've been using for years.

I'm dragging around a 4 X 5 piece of hog panel with a couple of cinder blocks sitting on it for weight. 4 wheeler pulls it good. We just stand it up at the last plot and start there next year.

We use an old box spring and it seems to work well. We had the same idea as everyone else, put out 350lbs of seed blend and 1030 lbs of 21-0-21 on about 3 1/2 acres just before the rain. Ought to be beautiful in a couple of weeks- Here's my assistant making sure the buggy got filled rt, lol

All good posts.
The point is, if you're not dragging your plots and only using a disk to cover the seed, you should be.You'll see much better results if you do.
