Well today was my last teal hunt of the season (funeral tomorrow and church on Sunday) and it was my worst season ever - only killed 5 birds!!
But it did finish with some excitement! I was hunting solo and had settled down in the blind - headlamp was off waiting for first light when I hear something big fall into the pit with me. I scrambled for the headlamp and when I kicked it on I discovered I was sharing the blind with a snake - needless to say that my concern about blowing a hole in the floor of the blind was secondary to my insistence that I not continue to share that pit with the snake any longer!! My blood pressure is still high!!!

Haha, nice. I had a rattlesnake crawl in the deer blind once between me and the door. Not a fun experience.

I felt something tap my chin just before shooting time last weekend and reached up to swat away whatever nit or nat it may have been. Well, my hand brushed against something that just didn't feel like it belonged on my shirt and I looked down just in time to see one of those giant green-bellied orb weavers run over my face and onto the bill of my cap. I at least had the presence of mind to keep my shotgun pointed in a safe direction while I ran screaming out of the blind shucking my clothes off...
I haven't really settled all the way down yet either.

I haven't really settled all the way down yet either. Alright this one made me laugh!! I am not a big fan of snakes but I HATE spiders!! I would still be running if that happened to me!

I swear, some of y'all would kill a little garden snake if you saw one...
Any creature in my vicinity that possesses an explosive penis is going to be killed.

I had a similar experience this season. My snake was curled up on a lily pad 3 feet from me, first reaction was to blow the hell out of it, 2nd reaction was to observe and notice it was not threatening, 3rd reaction was to notice is was slender and head not pointy like poisonous snakes, 4th reaction was to take a pic, 5th reaction I actually reacted on and that was to blow the snot out of the snake. Sorry no pics..
