I need some help, lost my keys and bought a new set of key fobs. Checked with the mfg on programing instructions but the truck refuses to go into program mode per their instructions. Anybody have experience with this?

1. Close all the vehicle doors. 2. Insert the ignition key into the ignition lock cylinder. 3. Press and hold the door unlock switch. 4. While holding the door lock switch in the unlock position, cycle the ignition ON, OFF, ON, OFF. 5. Release the door unlock switch. The doors will lock and unlock to confirm the program mode. 6. Press and hold the LOCK button and the UNLOCK button simultaneously on one transmitter. After a delay of approximately 15 seconds, the doors will lock and unlock to confirm the programming of that transmitter. 7. Repeat the previous step to program up to 4 transmitters. 8. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position in order to exit the keyless entry transmitter programming mode. 9. Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation.

Yep tried that, my doors lock/unlock before I release the unlock switch so it never goes into program mode.

The door locks are supposed to cycle that is when you release the door lock switch. Then you press and hold the both the lock and unlock buttons on the remote until you hear the locks cycle again, then you can repeat that step with another remote.
Turn the ignition key on and off and that should complete it.

If you do the ignition sequence and the locks cycle it is now in the learn mode. Press and hold the remote buttons and the locks should cycle again to learn that remote within 10-20 seconds.
If they don't you may have the wrong remotes.

The locks are not supposed to cycle before I release the lock/unlock button. Instructions say that if that happens to take to a "certified" repair center because there is a problem with the truck. Just seeing if anyone has run into this before.

Typically when the RCDLR has an issue it will not cycle the locks at all.
Have you tried to program the new remotes after the locks cycle to see what happens or are you just going off of the "they aren't supposed to cycle until you release the switch"???
Also where did you get the remotes?

These are GM factory remotes, just did not want to pay the $75 each at the time to program them. Yes tried to program the remotes but they literally did nothing.

Hmm. That doesn't make sense.
It wouldn't suprise me if they gave you the wrong ones. There were so many different remotes used for those year models.
