Thought there was no driving in the middle of fields allowed?

North of WC?. There were 4 of them. I scouted Sat. and the birds were using the area where they parked. I think they messed it up.

Well the migratory section of the THF is the place to take care of it.

Problem solved.

I still remember my first hunt with DJ Farms about 8 years ago...coming from up north it was a shocker. Don't remember how many cars & suv's I saw get stuck in the field. How hard is it to walk 200 or 300 yards?

Vernon has probably lost count of the # of folks he had to pull out of the fields, after being stuck.

We haven't hunted DJ Farms in 2 years, but I think he finally listed the # for a wrecker for those who chose to drive thru the pasture.

We always walked. It's not a difficult concept to understand. When they say "don't drive thru the field" folks mean just that.

How was the hunting on the east side. The west side wasn't too good

The fields on the west side look like they have been plowed under for a while now. That will save us a trip to the east side. Thank you

Eastside hunting went pretty good for some of us if you got out and found the good fields. Had more than enough birds come through for a few limits. I got 13 but lost one to a hawk. Coulda limited out if I'd stayed a little longer but I left the field around 9:30.

Janie is correct, at the risk of being a jerk, and after pulling out several people even some twice, My wife had the idea to list wrecker service numbers on the vehicle tags.

West side is always really good or really slow, dependent on patterns, east side reports were mixed, some quick limits, some only a few; Had one guy say it sounded like a war zone, another said he never heard a shot... they were about 400 yards from each other

I hope the middle of the field hunters are done for the season. Some people just do not understand that if you let the dove settle and feed in the field they will continue using it. If not they will find something else. I have a pretty good spot scouted out. I am just keeping my fingers crossed that some idiots do not ruin it.

Most people use the same fields get out on some others trust me I hunt dj several days a week by myself and don't have problems with others. Opening weekend is usually only time I have had dumb----- screw up my hunt.

Lesson learned though if you don't want idiots around you hide your truck down the road and walk you'll think yourself later. A white truck in a field is like a homing beacon for idiots.

I would if I could. Hunting during the week is not an option for me, especially the first 2 weeks of the month.

Anyone seeing any birds since the cool weather? We've hunted Randolph and Leonard with not a lot of birds.

Went out this morning off of 75, north of Van Alstyne.

Absolutely nothing......

How has the weather change/rain last weekend affected the dove? Was thinking about trying the west-area lease this weekend.

He just asked a simple question...

I have seen little change in the number of birds...were still killing them everyday though, numbers are good in NTX.

I attempted hunting teal on Monday and saw a hand full of wigeon and a wood duck but not a single teal. Did see a dozen or so dove fly by.
I like having nearly free range on so much beautiful land, just been disappointed with the bird numbers. I guess that's the breaks

Birds haven't been good, but were better this week than so far, most of our luck was due to scouting for water and nearby cedars where they could roost for the day... and then again right at LST
