I plan on planting oats this weekend before the front moves through. What are the chances of me spreading oats without disc king and them coming up? I figured if some spilled oats will grow in the bed of my truck they will grow anywhere.

Is it sandy where you hunt? I would be more worried about the seed washing out with a good rain.

It will all depend on the amount of rain. If the land is plowed then it will do better. Soil contact and competition for moisture is key. Soil disturbance is even better in the mix. At least drag it first.

No it's not to sandy at all. It is on some higher points of the lease but not the field I plan on planting.
