I've been watching this deer for the last 5 years. He is now 7.5 and I think I'm going to finally try to take him with my bow. He has gone downhill a little since last year. God, I love bowhunting!

His G2's really hook forward this year, more than in the past. He has grown this two kickers every year except when he was 4.5 he only grew one out.

Here are some of his friends...

Just curious, is he at the top of the gene pool? Why so long to put him on the hit list. No disrespect, he is a fine 8 point and I like big 8's.

Sadly, yes. The place was completely shot out when we got it back in 2009. He has been one of the only bucks I've had since that has had all three of big frame, long tines and good mass. I was hoping he'd spread a lot of what he has. He has been the most impressive deer over the last several years. This year I've got a young buck that looks like he'll be great if he stays alive. I'll try to get a pic of him posted up.

Here's some more on the hit list

Big boar

Sika

Here is that good looking young buck, 5x4 with a split G1 and an extra main beam on his left side. I'm pretty excited about him!

Finally got a picture so you can see his width with his ears at attention.

He finally shed his velvet on the 15th and he looks like he already has a case of the blue balls!

That is a 16% deer pellet from Bode's in Harper. I usually only put feed in there when I'm out there because its near the house and I can see them come in. I have a feed pen with protien feeders that I normally feed out of.

Hell, I put up my bow blind yesterday afternoon and decided to go ahead and hunt it yesterday evening. Left my two kids at the house with their grandma. At 7:00 a bunch of bigger bucks were working their way in to the blind. Then they all spooked and ran by me! I heard my truck and peeked out the window to see my mom go driving by with the kids in tow! I ran over there and stopped them and asked them what the hell was going on!?!? Well it turns out the kids wanted to go spotting for deer after all the rain and my mom was driving them around in the mud rutting up the roads! I was pissed!

Oh well, at least the kids were having fun. I'm going back out Thursday with out the kids to do some real hunting for 4 days. Hope I get him.

I wish I had more, he's the only deer I've seen with kickers like that. You'd think some of his offspring would show up with some kickers but I guess not. Maybe all his offspring are does so far.

Depending on how old the offspring are they might not show up until the 3.5yo mark.
