Nice aka Stinky Rain is here. Looked at the radar and this is just the precursor...we are about to get a pretty solid storm.

That would be great if it rained hard all night. Should get some good action in the morning.

Cold front rolled through, wind is out of the north and I have to wear a jacket this morning...life is good!!!! We have one day to hunt the north wind before it turns back. Both TC showed more activity at our north wind sets, but antler size wasn't as impressive, so we will both be looking for some flopped eared nannies this morning and am going to try to put some meat in the cooler. Stinky did have a ten roaming the area he will be hunting that would be one hell of a first bow kill, so I wish him luck!!! Not sure about Stinky, but I am going to see what the morning brings and if a doe decides to wonder by mid morning, an arrow will fly. Rained off and on most the night, cooler temps, north wind, and cloud cover should have the deer moving. Stayed tuned until first light

If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

Well, it has been an eventful morning so far for me. Walked in from the bean field early this morning and caused a stampede. Deer were already up and I guess they let me walk into the middle of the herd before they decided to panic. They ran in every direction, blowing, stomping and carrying on. A little deflated after all the commotion, I continued on the 30 yards to my stand and waited for light. With the cloud cover and being below the canopy, it was too dark to see. Did have two deer pass by, but no clue what they were. After the commotion earlier, figure they must be deaf and dumb. Light came and could see a few feeding out in the field, something to watch but too far to even get excited about. Finally, I heard a russle behind my tree. I slowly turned and saw two doe and a yearling working their way through. One doe passed right under me and went to feeding in the creek bottom and the other circled down the tree line...downwind. I knew I didn't have long to shoot, so I attached my release and waited for my opportunity. By this time, the other doe had made it downwind and could smell me. She was getting fidgety, and attracted the attention of my target. One short burst of air, and my chance was gone. My target trotted back to where the other doe was standing. They didnt run, but circled back around me and cut into the woods about 50 yards down. Here's to a blown opportunity and hope for another chance
