We are heading back out at four, TREX promises a monster and has good prospects. I have a ten and a doe comming to my best stand but cant hunt it till tomorrow due to wind. I am hunting trail intersections near creek tonight.

We are just relaxing...hot up here today. Afternoon hunt will start at 92 degrees and wind around 20mph. Cold front is coming through tonight and high tomorrow is 77. Wind change is going to make us both move stands, so tonight is my last night at a feeder. As wet as it has been up here, I am surprised at the activity around the feeders, but pic's showed "corn is king". Going to run to Wally World and head out pretty soon.

That front would seem like perfect timing. Y'all be safe.

Even if you're not seeing anything, make something up and post it. We'll buy it.

First live thread of the season has the makings of a great one! I'm very jealous and will be watching this one closely. At least I have the mourning dove opener tomorrow to help ease the pain. I'll be putting out our first trail cams Saturday. God I love this time of year. Cheers dudes.

So I climb into my stand at 4pm and less than 5 mins in, one hell of a deer comes easing through the brush. He's a giant, probably 180"! The wind is right, he's oblivious to my position. He's at 50, then 40, now 28 yrds. I'm ready with my arrow knocked. He stops broad side and I come to my full 19" draw. I release, my arrow is true to the mark.................


My bad, I was day dreaming that I'm a lil nubby armed man climbing a tree in Kansas.

I am just glad my draw has gone from 11" to 19"

Front is definitely coming in. Wind has kicked up to around 30-35 and this draw is like a wind funnel. Clouds are moving in and getting dark to our west. Expecting rain and some thunderstorms tonight.

Been in the stand for a bit glassing and haven't found anything bedded in the draw. Hope the weather change gets the deer moving and hope Stinky gets his first deer with a bow!!!

Thank goodness I chose the tripod this hunt or we would have a rerun from a couple years ago when y'all talked me into hunting 20' up out of a freaking chain on...never been sea sick and been on plenty of boats, but got pretty damn close that night

We would have to buy more ice chest...

I will probably try to wait until tomorrow or Saturday to shoot a doe. Wind is going to change tonight and I will have to move away from this spot. According to the TC, this is the spot for a buck. Over the years, a doe is no problem at the stand I will be moving too.

So maybe tomorrow, this will be a "live doe hunt" with a chance of a Kansas bruiser
