I like to hunt it on weekdays. My son took his first deer there when he was nine, a spike. I have taken a doe and an eleven point with a 12" spread before AR's. A friend took a big 10 point also.
Good hunting there.

Hunted there for a couple years while at A&M. Only killed a doe in 2 years of hunting there, but I did see plenty of deer both years. It was actually the biggest doe I've ever killed, it field dressed 90 lbs. I only saw one legal buck in both years, and he ran right thru my field of view before I even had time to react. Saw plenty of basketrack 4-6 points.

I have done good there through the years, have got a doe every year except last year, have shot a few spikes and 2 decent bucks that would pass the AR rule, shot the bucks before the rules started, have seen some really good bucks during bow season but never close enough for a shot, seen some really nice ones on game cameras always nocturnal

Have you guys applied for doe tags before for SHNF? I called and they said I needed to buy the APH before I could even apply (the directions for applying are in the book) - does anyone know if that's true?
