Now open with range to 700 yards with berms every 100 yards and a nice large pistol berm with up to 100 yards of distance.

Very early stages of development and ready for use for one shooter or group of shooters known to each other and get run of the range. Instructors of all varieties welcome and we have a class room also.

Ma & Pa and family style in concept and by Appointment only always. Meaning we will not have crowds, competitions, 50 cals, rapid fire, FMJ or steel targets. Just old fashion precision and educational shooting with paper targets, and for instant gratification balloons, china plates and clay pigeons.

Id make some changes. You are appointment only. The people that are going to go out of their way to do all this arent going to be the "new to guns" type unless its a corporate type event. You are probably going to be dealing with the more experienced crowd. As an experieneced shooter I dont need some range Nazi telling me to slow down when im shooting the center of a target out shooting faster. Id cater to the experienced crowd and allow them to do stuff not many ranges will do. Steel targets, practicing multiple target acquisition, double taps, etc...

This is great. Having a range of this distance so close. How many shooters can you have at a time? Have you seen any issues with having people shooting/conflicting at the different distances? At best of the west range outside Georgetown they only allow shooting on their gongs past 250. Mainly because of the time it takes to get back and forth. I'm wanting to get into F-Class shooting and you're the longest/closest range that I know of with that kind of distance.

Yes 700 yards is a nice long shot. Thanks for replies and hope some of give us a try. Sorry Walter and I like your name I am not comfortable with steel targets yours or mine. The range Nazis referenced are usually the people with a " Vested" interest in day to day operations and long term vision. We will stay with our business plan to be private, family style and calm at all times. I know lots of people would make lots of changes and they may need to build their own range. We hope there will be shooters who appreciate that we only want one shooter or group of shooters at a time so the customer may have run of the range to do their work at their own pace. We are not trying to make a lot of money and we do want to offer a quality product for precision shooters trying to perfect their shooting. For reactive targets we will have white china plates, balloons, and clay pigeons as well as good old fashion paper targets. Note you can also bring your own binary exploding targets if you like.

I am not totally old fashion as I trained my son who graduated from West Point 2008 and won the top shot award the last two years after being on the very select Combat Weapons Training Team for four years and recently won top shot award at a two week close quarters combat training class with 30 class members 6 being from the elite FBI fly team from Washington DC and two Swat team members from Atlanta. Yes I am proud dad and he understands my safety concerns and agrees with my decisions.

Steel targets at distance make great for spotting hits/misses.

same instant feedback from china plates, balloons, clay pigeons and binary exploding targets and no ricochet possibilities and bullet stays intact and not fragmented into thousands of pieces I don't expect to win over all steel target shooters.

That's cool....your range your rules. Hard to put a group down at distance with items that break on impact though.

How do you make an appt? Do you have standing times ie sat and sun?

put a group down on paper. If the group is good take a picture for your scrap book as I have seen others doing.

I think your business plan is great for hunters and target shooting. There are plenty of other places for action pistol and rifle. We need all types of facilities for a diverse group of shooters.

come on dude, you gonna tell this fella how hes gonna do his business. sorry, but I find your post insulting. if you don't want to go shooting at this range, don't do it, no big deal, but the first bloke to tell me how im gonna run my business is going to get their butts run right out of my store...

Yes I am close to your club and I have been on the waiting list to join your club for 5 years. I worked on my website and now have the pricing reflected. You must understand my club is quite different from other clubs in that I do not want a real busy business. So I have a business plan to cater to one shooter or group of shooter known to each other. This way the shooters are allowed to shoot and check targets at their own rate of speed and have "Run of the Range" so to speak. I hope I have a following of shooters who appreciate my business plan. Everything is by appointment only and no walk ins. My place is fairly hidden and out of the way in a very family style setting. I live on site and plan to be here until I go out toes up. Young shooters and new shooters are encourage and our motto is " Take a youth shooting and build boldness and confidence in their future"

Cleric you just need to call to make an appointment and I offer different services that have to be scheduled around sometimes.

Currently considering allowing FMJ for pistols to 25 yards.

I do like the way you are going to be running it to where a small group can come and not have to deal with other people. The no steel targets is not the end of the world, and that is your choice and I respect that.

Not reliably...perfect conditions yes but those days are few and far between.

Its his business, he can do whatever he desires. On that same token its also smart to consider what your customers want. Not listening to what people want spells disaster. Last I checked customers keep you employed.

I said not allowing FMJ pistol rounds is bad, they are now considering allowing them. Smart move, especially considering 90% or more gun ranges allow them. Plus FMJ rounds are less costly and readily available.

I am far from a tactical/militia nut, I dont even own a "tactical" gun. What I do like to practice for are practical shooting situations when it comes to pistol.

FMJ will be allowed on the pistol range.

I just wanted to say that I shot at this range Saturday afternoon, and greatly enjoyed the experience. Nothing fancy, to be sure, but the luxury of having the place to myself was very enjoyable, and the property was also quite nice. It was also great to be able to shoot beyond 200 yards.
