Bought a case of 20ga Remington Sure shot from Academy for my son. The darn things would not slide into the barrel. Receiver bolt would not close properly. The whole case seems to be swollen or something. Tried some Rio's and Federals and they dropped right in no problems. Pi@@!@ me off! I bought him a Weahtherby sa-08 last year and it has been flawless never jamming ect..Not sure if they were old or what but truly disappointed. I have shot these shells for years with no issues. Even tried some older Remington from two years ago and they worked fine in his gun. Also tried them in a Beretta and they did not work either.

Had a buddy that had one Rem. come apart on him opening day. I had several that were plowing primers out. QC went out the window when they tried to catch up to the panic, is my guess.

FWIW, that hull in the picture looks like it has been reloaded quite a few times, you can tell by the Winchester primer and the condition of the hull. See pics posted below.
Not sure why it failed like that, I've reloaded Gun Clubs, which are quite similar to Heavy Doves, many times without ever having such a problem.
That's really something.

Not sure why it failed like that, but if a Mec Jr was used, if the priming tube is set too low, it can actually fracture the plastic bond w the case head. I had this problem before w a Mec Jr 28 ga.
Apart from that, I've reloaded Gun Clubs, which are quite similar to Heavy Doves, many times (some forum posts claim 8 to 10 times is normal) without ever having such a problem. You smoke crack much or just like to BS about your reloading prowess? Thats a factory load

I hope to hell that this company is not outsourcing its labor just to save a buck in todays world!
Go to reloading if you shoot a bit, getting back into reloading now, and finding products little harder to come by!

Just one more reason to always carry a wooden dowel rod with you when hunting! Never know when you just might need it! I saw the same thing at a clay shoot just before dove season. Appears the factory is pushing too hard to fill shelves and Q.A. dept is doing the quick check!

New to the forum guys but I agree that these Remington shells have been poor. I have used maybe 50 shells this season so far through my Remington 870 pump and I have had to take apart the gun to get one or two of these shells to extract so I can see why the auto loaders are ripping them up.
The quality of these shells is definitely questionable. I have noticed a few shells being almost a quarter of an inch longer than the others too.

I have loved my Remington 870 12ga and my dad has an old Wingmaster in the safe that is his backup gun. It definitely raises questions about what level of pride they are taking in their products at this time.
After reading some guys' reviews on Rio this season, I went out and bought a case of those to try because I could really care less to try and get through these shells. Maybe these Remingtons just become expensive loads for clay shooting at this point...

I tried the Rio heavy stuff from academy and they were about 8 bucks a box. But they worked great. May have found a new shell. First bird I saw folded up like laundry.

I tried the new to me Estate heavy loads was 5 and 0 till I lost a bird then went to shooting the regular Winchester dove loads and my ratio went south fast. Have not experienced any eject problems with these rounds and I shoot a Rem 870 and a Mossberg o/u so I will stay away from the Remmies.

I shoot crows, quail, chukkar, dove, pigeons and even pheasants with it. Love that load.
