Headed out just west of Waxahachie to scout tomorrow and hunt Saturday .
Anyone do any good around there ?

I hunted near Ennis yesterday and this morning. Fired 3 shots and got 1 over both days. Saw a fair number of dove in the area while driving home both days.

I live just NW of Town and there are quite a few birds in the area. Don't hunt here though, no where to go

No Dan, I appreciate the invite but my nephew has a football game tomorrow afternoon. And I never thought I would say this, but I'm wore out after shooting birds all week. I need the weather to turn off a little to recharge my batteries.

I scouted around down by Waxahachie yesterday. Burned a tank of gas and didn't find any birds to speak of.

One of the best hunts I've ever had in North TX was just outside Waxahachie. Everyone kept saying just wait as we sat in a field with scattered cedars. No water, no food, thought they were full of it. Then around 3:30 in the afternoon it turned on. It was like sitting around a West TX pond in the late afternoon.
Haven't been there in a couple years now.

First time for me getting checked while hunting. Been checked once fishing. Made a nice comment about my daughter handing him an unloaded gun with the bolt open on his way back from checking her.
Her standard youth license and no separate hunters ed card were no problem because it was listed on her license.
No complaints at all.

I hunted out a little east of waxahacie this morning and didn't see but one bird. Would love to find another place to go but they are few and far between these days.
