I am one of those guys that just reads the forums but I wanted to pass this along. Today I was in Stripes in Brady and a lady walked in. She wants to lease her 680 acres near Brady Lake. I don't know her or any details. Call Stripes and the cashier has her phone number. She asked him to make a sign. That general area should be pretty good hunting. There are axis over there sometimes too. Sorry I didn't get any more info. I thought that this late in the game any lead can be useful. Hope it helps.

That is a very good area for axis and whitetail. Depends on whose ranch or farmland it joins also.

Hey STX we are just south of Lohn but we have never seen any Axis. Have you seen any in that area?
We also have a Javelina season but have never seen any. Have you ?

Don't now much about the Lohn area but looked at a ranch just southeast of it in the Brady Pass area. The realestate agent told me the previous owner had seen axis on that ranch. I talked with a guy that had it leased for hunting and said he had seen javis on it a few times also. I know just south of the Lohn area along Hwy 283 there are HF ranches that have axis and they are seen free range from time to time. More are seen along the Brady Creek in that area though.

I saw the pics of them from the early 2000's. The ranch was the was the place where the guy had all the live video feed cameras on it. One of his paying members to view the cams "snapped" the pics of a live video feedand they were on the site. I met the guy who had the cameras and the place he confirmed that it was javis. It was javis and small group of them. The ranch had a really rough steep ridge on the south end of it and then was nothing but mesquite and mixed brush in the flats toward the highway. The realestate agent said the same thing that there was one small group of javis on the ranch.

I`m just off the Co. River..just over into Coleman Co.near 283. Seen axis every year there, no one wants to shoot them in hopes of getting them started...No hogs or Rats yet though!

This sounds like a great lease though any hogs in that area?

We used to lease a little less than 2k acres right off the river. Wish we still had it. Some great deer hunting in that area.
