I was looking around online for knife ideas and came across one I thought I really liked. I drew up a pattern, cut out the blade, ground it, sanded it, etched it and installed the handles. That is the exact moment that I admitted to myself..... that sure looks like crap. So I decided just to keep grinding on the handles till I came up with something that looked ok. What I ended up with is one that I will make again as well as modify the width of the blade to make a whole different knife. The blade is Alabama Damascus, the handles are Chittamwood, with copper spacers and copper pins. Here is before I started changing the shape: Here it is after basically being re-designed on the fly:
I fought Him, ran from Him, thought I could do it all without Him, but when I finally turned to Him, He opened his arms and took me in.

Me too, I have two more sets that look better than this. I am going to save them till I make something that just has to have them. I stated out planning to use some Box Elder Burl I got from MikeC and changed my mind at the last minute. I want to save that too.

Wow! That is beautiful. There are some very talented knife makers on this forum. Not meaning to hijack the thread, but dose anyone remember the Scandinavian gentleman who was making knives a few years back? I haven't seen him post in a very long time.

Kimo Lilga, I saw him on Facebook on a page that has knives for sale.
I fought Him, ran from Him, thought I could do it all without Him, but when I finally turned to Him, He opened his arms and took me in.
