9 shots, 3 birds. Forgot the keys to the gate today so had to hump it to the spot.

Five shots no birds. Saw a lot of birds just out of range. Guys behind me were shooting up a storm.

I hunted by my house this AM. 5 shots no birds using a gun I haven't used in along time = a single shot 20 gauge, so I'm not tempted to sky blast :)The hunters close to me were probably glad when I came out of my house - about a 100 eurasians, mourning, and whitewing dove flew out of my trees when I shut the back door Followed by nearby blam, blam, blams about 5-10 seconds later. This is the first time I've hunted dove in quite a few years. All those dove flying in to roost on my place every night wee too big a temptation. This afternoon will tell the story. At least I will stir them up for someone else to shoot. I'm on the north edge of Merkel city limits and have neighbors fairly close, so i restrict the directions I shoot so I don't pepper their houses. They are far enough away it wouldn't hurt anything, but still. Saw something I had never seen in the field before. I had several Inca dove fly past me at different times. There are a lot of them in town. I've seen Incas, mourning, eurasians, and whitewing (and pigeons)all drinking out of the same water puddle at the same time by the Methodist Church in town. Anyway ,when the Incas were flying at or by me, each time I was bringing up my gun and pulling it down and on and on - "dove, no, dove?, no?, ahh an Inca dove"

It is actually pretty bad up here. We honestly missed enough we should have made limit. However, it is the worst I have seen in 3 years. Dreading the evening hunt because of the heat. But, we will finish out the young bucks limits at the tank later today.

We're about 10 miles north of town. I'll be looking for your evening hunt post! Good luck

Hunting near the big city of Noodle huh There was plenty of shooting this morning all around, but I didn't see as many flying as I expected. Another funny thing happened this morning. I let some people keep some boer goats on my place. A eurasian flew over in a direction I didn't want to shoot because of neighbors houses. After he passed by, he started doing all kinds of wild dives and evasive manuevers. I'm pretty sure he spotted the goats in the middle of the field and were afraid they were going to shoot at him

Shoulda had an easy limit but was solo so the shots I did make were difficult. I think tonight should be better when we will have at least 3-4 in the draws.

I no longer dove hunt. I just got an email from my neighbor. He wrote that he limited by 7:45 with 22 shots. He hunted north of Katy.

Limit with 1 1/2 boxes of 20 gauge shells. And I don't shoot skeet either. Is it possible to upload a picture with a smart phone?

Missed more than my fair share. Should have limited out. Not a good morning, but the birds are where I'm hunting. Hopefully I'll be a bit better tonight

If we could only hunt in town Going to church this morning I saw many of all three species flying around in town. I also saw all kinds of hunting rigs and hunters at restaurants and convenience stores in from their morning hunts. I didn't stop to talk, was already late for church. When I came home there were 2 eurasian dove walking around in my front yard
