I never use a scent cover for hogs. I stay in an elevated stand about 10-16 feet above the ground and hogs never know I am there. You have to play the wind, but I have been around hunters who smoke in the stand and while their rifle is raised.

Scent covers are kind of a "if it works for you" thing in my book. I just don't see the value added.

Korea is nothing like Germany, and no amount of Army Modernization propaganda will convince me otherwise. I miss my wife and kids something fierce

I use Fresh Earth wafers and fox urine. both seem to work really well for me when I'm bow hunting deer so I haven't changed a thing when hunting hogs.

Hogs have one of the best noses out there, you're not fooling them with cover scent

So I use nothing. Just hope the wind is right.

Hogs are wary and genreally always approach anything with caution.
If something is different, they will stay away well in the brush.
If something smells different from normal for the area, they may well avoid it.

Use the wind and add some altitude to decrease your scent cone to a minimum and shoot pigs.

I usually find a nice fresh pile of cow poop and step in it a few times before I walk in. Covers my scent trail nicely. Once I'm in my stand, I really don't worry about it. I dip, and pee out of my stand when I have to. Have killed hundreds of pigs with no problem.

I find that the sows really like English leather and Sterling. Aqua Velva and Old Spice not as effective

LOL, how would you even know if it did or not? It is a misconception that a scent trail consists only of where your boots touch the ground. You also have to consider the fact that hogs have the ability to separate out smells from one another. That is how they can find buried truffles and such. The truffles are covered by all sort of other smells, but the hogs distinguish the truffle smell from all the other smells.

If you are putting poop on your shoes, then what the hog smells is a person who walked through poop.

Don't waste your money or time. You can't beat a hogs nose. You have to work the wind.

Pour a can of cream corn in your shorts. May not work but sounds original.

Something about making something else smell poop makes me happy happy happy.
So I am to assume that when you hunt, you make no effort to cover your scent in any way shape or form?
There are times that no matter what you do, you can't always play the wind right. Maybe it only helps in my mind, but that's enough for me to believe it helps.

Find a big cedar and act like a bear! Brake some branches and rub your pits and other stinking areas with them.

Otherwise... best of luck.... and like most of already said...

PLAY THE WIND!

Good luck!

Stay safe!

Hogs can feel you and hear you. Even if you use a scent cover you car air freshner shows up for example. They can smell from great distance and any new smell for that area can triger them out!

I guarantee that if you attempt to stalk pigs from upwind you will see exactly how much difference a cover scent makes. (which is to say "zero")

I probably would have said this a little more diplomatically, but I've taken a leak next to a feeder, farted around with the timer, climbed up the legs and taken the top off to check the level only to have a sounder of 15+ pigs roll in less than 30 minutes later. The smell of boots and evidence of human presence (like urine within the broadcast area of a feeder) doesn't seem to be a major spook (although it may become that way if they get shot at every time they get a whiff of human sign). What will spook them every time is if the wind pushes your "live scent" over them, and I can't believe that there is a way to overcome that with any product sold in any store.
