I know this question will get varied responses but I am in need of a reputable trainer in North Texas I can speak with about training a lab pup starting within the next 4 motnhs. Apreciate any refferral or personal experience.
I live in McKinney and have recently lost both my lab and my ESS in the last six weeks and do not have time to train effectively and a new pup was already on order to replace my lab and my ESS died very unexpectedly.
thanks for any input

the thing about baiting is, even a rookie hunter could have a 170 bird season if they bait holes

Go visit with Tim and Angie as well as JC Strange and then make your decision. Both are good trainers and they both have there pluses and minuses.

Definitely want the deets, exploring many options.
Thanks so much for the kind words, Ruby was alot more dog than I ever deserved and just an awesome animal to have been able to work with. The loss was abrupt and we were on vacation when it happened so needless to say it has been an emotional roller coaster.
We lost Cayenne the lab 8 weeks before to psuedo monoassegeris and jen had contracted with this breeder even before Ruby died so the new pup was a surprise only two days after I came home to an empty yard. Wierd emotional deal, I hope this dog hunts.... She is papered well and the dams owner knows the system but I have never been around "silvers". Jim Swan trained the Dam so I am leaning toward letting him look at the pup and going that route.

Eddie Noga at Zion Kennels. Check entry express, results speak for themselves. He's got 8 dogs entered in the Master National.

Joe has a Silver that is big... Pretty damn hyper... Good luck! Surely you recognize how differently Joe and I aproach dogs and dog training? My expectations, uses and likely training times may be moderately different. Everybody swore an ESS was a bad idea when I got Ruby but I think that worked out fairly well. I have to think if Swan is willing to work with her there is at least posetive attributes to at a minimum the dams lineage to have solid aspirations. Time will tell.....
