Where would it be? I fell in love with the land north of Uvalde on Hwy 55 along the Nueces river bottoms. Giant pecan and sycamore trees transitioning to live oak mottes and typical south Texas brush right at the edge of the hill country. Big rugged hills, sparsely covered (no cedars), that you could set a blind up and see for a thousand yards. Slip down to the river bottoms and hunt axis from a tree stand. I wish I would have taken pictures when I passed through about a month ago.

LaSalle county on the Nueces. I had a girlfriend who's family owned a hunting operation there. It was an amazing piece of ground

If I could get that section of land with 100% of unleased minerals, I would have to take it in DeWitt or Karnes County. Then I could buy a tad bit more just about anywhere I wanted.

No doubt about that ranchman. I love that area north of Uvalde. Anywhere around the Nueces or Frio canyons.

I would buy some land up in Kansas up in the North west part. Deer hunt pheasant hunt and quail hunt all on the same property and do some turkey hunting.
Used to go to a place like that when I was younger, my dads boss used to have some nice hunting ground. Killed my first turkey there and many of pheasant and quail.

Starting at the intersection of Houston St at the foot of the Zangs bridge by Union Station, to Cedar Springs on the north to Central Expwy, then south and back west on Field ...and commonly called the CBD of Dallas LOL! aka a tired old joke about Dallas and the White Citizens Charter Council who ran the town back in my chidhood.
Ummmm 640 acres to Hunt on ...the Ft Worth Zoo comes to mind nah prolly not. How about the center of the Mason Mtn Research Center that'd prolly be fun.
There is a box canyon & mesa on the far west end of the White Horse Ranch that faces the south side of I-10 just east of Van Horn that Mr Bill Carter, of Carters Country in Houston fame, owned at one time that was the absolute wildest place I ever set foot on. I saw and was seen by Mule Deer that I feel certain had never seen a human being...I know the Aoudad were that way 'cause they had to stop and stare at me like What the *&&% is THAT standing there on the top of the cliff looking at us ...until the gun went off. Yup that'd be a great place for just 640 acres...and where the Desert Muley on my wall came from. Cheers Ron

Stephens Co in Caddo Butting up to my Inlaw's place. We have been managing deer there for quite a while with good results.

that would be a hard decision.
Probably would want it in northern Frio/Zavala county.
2nd choice would be southern Medina, Uvalde county
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I sold a ranch earlier this year a few miles west of 55 along the nueces river. country is very unique, this place was mostly all bottom surrounded by hills where you could see forever. that transition country is rugged and strangely beautiful

I'll throw in Roberts Co. I've worked up there quite a bit and have seen quite a few whitetail, mulies and antelope I would be proud to take! Give me a good size tank and the waterfowl would be pretty stellar as well.

wow, not many of you guys for rain much huh? or green grass?
gimme something around a NETX lake, say on the south side of texoma or north side of grapevine. if nothing is available there it would be some river land in the SE panhandle that held some muleys.
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

Burnet, Llano, Mason, San Saba or Lampasas counties ... with a small portion preferably lake or river front along the Colorado river or one of the Highland Lakes.

Having thought about it overnite...I'll take my 640 acres from the County Rd low water crossing on the South Llano River at the bottom end of the Blue Hole...down to the big white house with the Tennis courts just off the east side of the 377 Hwy south of Telephone...place is covered up in all kinds of critters and the deep cold arsed springs in the Blue Hole are magnificent in the summer...and great to fly fish in. That would be heaven for sure. Ron
