Does anybody on here use a ghillie suit? I do alot of hunting from the ground and was thinking about getting one this year. If you do use one, do you have problems with it getting caught up in your bow string? If I got one, I would use for bow and rifle season. Thanks for your input.

They catch on everything, which does add "natural camo" to it. I have used a poncho style, so that when you sit down and it broke up the outline. It was homemade using a fishnet from Pier One and dyed jute from a craft store. If I moved I could slip off in a few seconds, roll it and bungee cord it to my web gear, then when I stopped it only took a few seconds to put it back on.

I love mine and have used it although I can't think of ever killing anything while wearing it. I had a buddy of mine walk within twenty feet of me in the woods and he never saw me...I once was sitting in my tree climber and had a big ole owl fly up and sit on a branch right above me...I could have reached out and petted it...uh had my arm tore up it was so close.

I have used it several times. Not to great for a bow but you can make it work. Just practice with it to make sure you are comfortable with it. Don't ever try to walk through briars while wearing one.

I use a leaf suit, they still get caught on everything if your snooping and pooping but not as badly as a ghillie suit. Once in the stand I have had stand there looking at me for several minutes and then just go back to eating or wander off but never once have they been spooked. The only reason they have seen me to begin with is they catch me moving because sitting still for hours is very challenging for me...

I was thinking of just trimming the jute on the inside of the left arm really short. Don't know if that will do the trick, but from the feedback, I think I am gonna get one this year.

I bought a leaf suit from bass pro and trimmed the left forearm. Worked pretty well shooting in the yard. Haven't field tested it yet but I plan to this season. Bought a ghost blind I plan on setting up behind.

Wore one on my first hunt. It worked good because my buddies that I was hunting with couldn't find me. Had to walk home. Never found that snipe either!

I have a Rancho Safarie, and shot several deer while wearing it. trim the arm and chest, practice with it to insure the bow string does not snag upon release. I always carry it to and from the stand to keep it from snagging on everything.
Its a tool to aid in the hunt.
