I need to buy another choke or two for my Stoeger m2000. I am pleased with the ic that came with my gun, but need something better for decoying ducks on the outermost part of effective range. Someone please point me it the right direction for a good choke for longer shots, and the best one for close shots too. Not just constriction but brand. Thanks!

I shoot a kicks mod in the same gun. I've been pleased with it.

Briley Light Mod. for decoys + some. I quit putting em on paper years ago though.

If you don't mind, it don't matter.

I've always used Carlson's chokes. They've been great in all my guns

Why do you need something better? Are you getting a lot of cripples? Are you not able to bring the ducks closer in?

I might go with mod, steel is supposedly going to shoot tighter.

Hard to go wrong with Trulock.

Public hunts, and I'm not good enough to get em in close! I can kill them up close, but hope to extend my range some. Improved cylinder just isn't hitting them hard enough IMO.

With good quality shells and the proper forward lead you may be surprised how far out you can hit a dove with IC. LM is as tight as I will go for doves. But IMO, IC is better most of the time.

Light Mod. for duck all day everyday. Dove LM 70% or IC 30%, it depends on what I am hunting over. Do not over think chokes, or you will be worrying more about the choke than putting the payload on a winged target.

Is LM inbetween IC and M? I was told it was between M and F.

Yes, LM is between Ic and mod. Improved Mod is between Mod. and full. so it goes cyl,sk1,ic,lm/sk2,mod,imp mod,and full.
