What so you wear for snake protection for your feet while wearing chaps?

You can't beat Filsons waxed canvas, they're tough, cut the wind and get better with use

Skin him Pilgrim, I'll git you another

I have always detested wearing snakeboots, and Turtle Skins seemed like the perfect solution to hot weather hunts. I wore them a couple of years, until they wore out and got holey, but it always bothered me when a sneaky prickly pear would slip up on me. Guaranteed snakeproof, and not cactus proof?

A couple of seasons ago, my wifey bought me a pair of leather knee high motorcycle chaps and I wear them over my laceup boots and pants. I can attest to their ability to keep out the cactus and turn water....As to snakes, well I haven't had a chance to test them ...thankfully, but I do feel protected until I advise you otherwise.

I've been using jeans with nylon fronts on them; so far they are great. Wrangler and Game Winner has some so just find what you like.

I had some plastic inserts thar zipped into the lower leg years ago. They worked fine. I don't hunt in thorns anymore, so I just wear hunting pants.

I wear Filson chaps over Danner snake boots. Both are waterproof also.

Filson Chaps are top quaility. However, they are a little hot for this time of the year to be wearing them over jeans.

I have some Beretta light weight pants with the nylon front and they dont hold up to briars well. They were expensive, but look and feel nice. The cheapo Game Winner are my go to pair.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions.

I know these are not advertised as snake proof boots. But what do you guys think, will they hold up against a rattle snake bite. I really like these boots and I can walk in them all day. But I know it's not worth risking my life. It's just going to be so hot wearing real snake boots and chaps even if it's in the 40's-50's. What do you think?

Forget my early post it was a dumb question to even ask. It's not worth the risk!
