What's your favorite bait and how do you set up your bait station?
My favorite bait is a corn/beer/jello mixture or sour milk. Tried the oil from a fried turkey mixed with corn a couple weeks ago and that seemed to work good too.
Favorite bait set-up is what I call hog lasagna. Dig a long, narrow, deep hole. Layer your bait between layers of dirt. Keeps them coming back for days.

Table scraps: Fruit salad, cake, pies. Stuff the dogs and cats won't touch. But mainly corn and diesel (not much, just enough to keep the other critters away and make a good scent).
Setup is: Dig a hole about 12" dia x 12" deep fill up with whatever of the above I have at the time and leave it for about 4 days to a week. After the hogs find it and tear it up, which means they leave a hole about 3 ft dia by 18" deep, I set my trap atop it - then fill the hole full of bait.
Need to mention that sometimes - depending on the location - I might have to come back and throw a few bushes, broomtail sage or such around it to camo the trap a little.

Corn (unless hen scratch is cheaper), grape Koolaid and raspberry Jello...and let set for a couple days. If I really want to get it going quick, a couple packets of Yeast, Milk and cheap beer mixed with corn...but this sure attracts the coons too! I do the trench thing so that more than 1 or 2 can eat at a time.

Thank TXC. I'm assuming that this is the thread you were talking about starting...
Think I'll try a mixture of soured corn and some table scraps. Probably try to put some out the night before and then a little more before i get in the stand. But at the end of the day, its just like hunting anything else - Luck and being in the right spot at the right time plays a big part in whether or not you see anything.

Ok, yall may think I'm crazy but try mixing diesel with your corn. The hogs LOVE it! Put about 4 or 5 cups per 50 pounds of corn and leave all the beer, jello and stuff out of it. Should do the trick.

I'm a big fan of Wal-Mart brand strawberry jello mixed strongly with plain water and poured over corn buried in a post hole. I prefer the strawberry, but in a pinch I find that rasberry works pretty good...maybe peach....lol. I really think that if hogs like it and it smells loud that it will work...the diesel has the advantage of not drawing up the coons and deer though....that is kewl sometimes.

Soak a rough post in diesel for a day or so...set the post and the hogs will be back day in and day out until they have rubbed that post down to a toothpick.
Hunting isn't all about the killing, just like fishing isn't all about the catching.

I noticed that at Cooper before. There are a couple old creosote poles out there one is a big 18"X18" timber that has been pushed all ove the place. The other is a phone pole sticking about 5 feet out of the ground. The pigs have rubbed on it so much there is a ditch around the pole 3 feet deep and now it catches water.
