I took down two pigs with one shot from my .270 about 80 yards away on Saturday night. About 10 pigs were packed in tight around a pig bomb. How common is this? IMG_4472 by JonMcClellan, on Flickr

A lot of people manage to do this and you can find a bunch of videos on Youtube showing doubles.
What is a pig bomb?

Thanks for the information. Our version of a "pig bomb" is corn and beer buried about a foot deep.

Yeah, I am still waiting for my first 241 (two for one) shot. The most amazing I have seen is with a bow and arrow. But hey, with the way the population is growing, we should all be having them sooner or later!

I did it once. Neither one was that big. Good job.

I was stalking a sounder last year when something spooked them and they turned and started running in my general direction. They ran by about 60 yards in front of me and then changed direction slightly so that they were all overlapping. I swung through as if I were shooting at ducks and when I got to about a two-body-length lead I shot. I was using a 180 grain .30 caliber bullet. Two hogs went down. Obviously a bit of luck involved, but I didn't complain.

When I was younger, about 15-16 yrs old, Dad and I went to San Saba, Tx on a weekend bow hog hunt. I was stalking a group of hogs and had gotten up ahead of them. When they came walking/trotting infront of me about 20 yds, I picked one out and shot him right behind the shoulder. I knew my shot was good and when they all scattered, there was a piglet laying dead on the ground. My arrow hit the first pig behind the shoulder and hit the piglet right behind the ear. lol I dont think I could do that again if I tried.

Thanks Matty, you are the kindest of brothers. If you would not mind doing that during deer season that would be great.

Once in a Blue Moon shot? Well done, anyway you did it!
I've done doubles on doves and been trying for a 241 on Ferals for a long time. I have managed to have one DRT and wound the second one good enough to take them out with a follow-up shot but still waiting for the 241.

We put out corn in straight lines angling away from the stand, with the intent that the pigs will line up and we can get doubles this way. I have 3 previous "doubles" on video, and have done it many more times than that. Often times, unless they are lined up perfectly, the 2nd pig runs off squealing, or squirting blood, or dragging intestines.. It's not a perfect process, but almost always takes out 2 pigs with a single shot. Sometimes they both fall right there, more often then not the 2nd pig runs off. I have had it where the first pig hit ran off squealing and the 2nd pig behind him flopped over dead. Now that's cool.
When going for doubles, it is imperative that you use a good bullet that will stay together. For example, the Hornady Inter-lock is a great bullet for doubles. An example of a bad bullet would be the Hornady SST's. When I shoot the 165 grain SST's out of my 300 Win. Mag., they are so explosive that they will cut the first pig in half, and the 2nd pig only gets hit with shrapnel. If I'm intentionally going for doubles, I'll use a slower caliber like 30-06 with a good bullet.
A hog is nothing more than a bullet receptacle.

Did it once, shot a sow and it killed her and the piglet behind her. I dont even know the piglet was there because of tall grass
So technically it probably doesnt count
