Just go out about 30min-1hr after daylight and before dark and shout see if there's any birds present in the water.

Have you tried a teal kite? If you have a sizable dam you can get a big white garbage bag and run back and forth across it getting air to fill up the bag...if they're in the area, they will come flying in fast! Same logic as flagging for geese, teal are just a little different. Good luck and post pics!

I really hate to do what I am about to do, because it will be very painful for you.

If there is water and something to eat you should have birds. Biggest clue will be water over grass. If you have flooded grass the birds will find the tank.

Don't expect huge numbers, like the coast, but you should get several flocks to come in.

Don't forget your Teal tags. Academy had a special yesterday
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.

We would never go a larking. For the record to any new hunters or new to duck hunting.THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS TEAL TAGS. Do not ask for them when you buy your license. Do not call TPWD and inquire about them. They do not exist. It is an old joke.

Please, for the love of god, can we put an end to the stupid teal tag rib from here on out? It was funny when it started. 5 years ago.
Now its just annoying to read. Now the kite thing, that's new material. Well played sir.
I like spoonie, his humor is dryer than my duck lease.

Well, if some of y'all could keep quiet for a week or so we could've had some great pics!
But since we didnt, here are the answers to the questions...
Q:Just wondering if any body teal hunts in the hill country. Llano co. A:Very likely
Q: I am on a lease with a few good size tanks and was wondering what to look for if teal are present or and able to be hunted. A: Get as close to them as possible and shoot.
Welcome to the forum.

I just know when they made the change two or three years ago, I was happy with the new format getting away from the teal tags that you had to tear off to attach to each duck. The new card system is much more user friendly.
