A few neighbor kids. I even let them ride in the kennel.

There's a decoy retriever pole, but its not long enough for retrieving my decoys most the time.
Other than buying a kayak I'd suggest getting that dog up to snuff. I was ready to give up on my Remi last year and guys here on the forum talked me out of it. You'd be surprised how good a dog can get with 15-30 mins of work 5 days a week for a month. Plus one of the most rewarding things about hunting for me is watching a dog work that I trained.

I have duck hunted with a boat since 1980. Hunt a large public lake. Never owned a dog. I use the boat for long retrieves.

DWADR, I use mine for decoys in deep water but I guess you could use it for ducks too. I'm never without my dog so I wouldn't know.

Kelly DWADR will work if you have the arm to throw it. Lucky for me my son is a pitcher so he runs the DWADR most hunts.

Bobber Stop-->Large quill bobber-->No.5 Snap Swivel-->7/0 Treble Hook
The quill bobber is easy to "steer" and slides easily over the duck to set the treble hook. Very little slack between the bobber stop and the hook. Good luck.

Ding ding. Or just put wind to your back and shoot dux in face when cupped up and they land in your blind. My dog has been injured and out of many hunts so I know, just pic your shots as simple as that...

I have tryed the fishing pole game and that can take forever. My dog is not at the point in training to be reliable is why I'm asking... Them womens is always complainin about not going anywhere, put a life vest and waders on the ole ball and chain and haver her retrieve them ducks for ya.
The Federal Government cannot give anything to anyone, that it has not first taken from someone else.
