I once got all settled in the stand one morning thinking that it sure was an easy walk in for once. I sat there for an hour as the sun came up and realized I left my bow back at the truck...

My Buddy Stub and I were hunting north of Leakey. Temperature was dropping like a rock with drizzle in the forecast. We pack up to leave for Dallas and I noticed his gun on the bed in the pop-up. I should have said something, but didn't. We're coming into Kerrville when he say's," Spike". I knew immediately what his next words would be. "I forgot my gun". We turned around and never missed a beat. By the time we reached north Dallas there were wrecks EVERYWHERE! We made it though. That was one of the longest drives of my life.
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.

My neighbors and I got to the lease and opened the rifle cases only to remember they took the rifles out and put shotguns in to go skeet shooting. Too bad we were deer hunting.

OK, beat this one. I'm on a Muskox hunt with my best friend. We leave camp on a sled pulled by a snow machine. 3 hours of bouncing in the sled the guide spots a muskox bull. My friend gets out of the sled. His guide and him put on a stalk. The guide tells him to load his gun. My friend had a little trouble. He left the bolt to his rifle back at camp in his gun case. I make sure he remembers that day. Then again that's what buddies do.

Marylander here.
Went for a week-long bowhunt in North-Cental Pennsylvania; 40 miles from New York State.
Potter County to be precise. Very mountainous.
Forgot my CLIMBING TREE STAND which was the only kind you can use on Federal game lands.
A week of bowhunting, sitting on the ground.

I was guiding for TXU in 2007 or 08, had a hunter forget to grab his rifle when he got out of the blind. We found it the following year in the corner of the blind. He simply said I wondered where I left it....

Anyone else wear prescription sunglasses and forget to take them off and put on your clear ones before leaving camp for an evening hunt. Let me tell you, it gets dark at lot quicker when you do.

Years ago I went on a hunting trip outside of Fort Hood and forgot my new, oversized sleeping bag. Spent the next three nights sleeping in a camper in sub freezing temperatures in a snoopy sleeping bag. Real fun for a 6' 4" dude.

Late dove season several years ago I drove straight from the dove fields to deer camp. Had a 12g, a 20g, and lots of 7-1/2 shot. No rifle. My aunt was tagged out so I borrowed her. 243.

Back when i wore glasses, left my prescription sunglasses on and my clears in the truck. Made the decision to hunt until dark with sunglasses on. Hike back was about 1/2 mile, couldnt decide what was worse, clear vision with almost no visibility in the dark, or blurry vision with almost no visibility in the dark.
